Australian members can now pay bills straight from their CoinPort AUD wallet using BPAY — no need to withdraw funds to a bank account first and pay from there.
Until now, BPAY on CoinPort worked one way: you could deposit AUD by using your bank’s BPAY facility to send funds into your CoinPort account. That still works exactly as before.
The new addition flips that around. Members can now use BPAY to pay out — settling electricity bills, phone plans, council rates, insurance premiums, and any other biller that accepts BPAY — directly from their CoinPort AUD balance, the same way you’d pay a bill from an everyday bank account.
Funds are deducted from your AUD wallet balance and sent to the biller through the BPAY network, the same rails used by Australian banks. As with standard BPAY payments, processing typically completes on the next business day.
For members who hold AUD on CoinPort between trades, this removes a step that used to be necessary just to pay a bill — withdraw to a bank account, then pay the bill from there. Now that AUD balance can go straight to the biller.
There’s no CoinPort fee for BPAY bill payments, and the feature is only available to verified members paying from a wallet under their own name, in line with our standard AML/CTF requirements.
If you haven’t verified your account yet, head to Wallets → AUD to complete identity verification, then look for the new Pay Bills option alongside your existing deposit and withdrawal tabs.
Kind regards
